The National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline
The Genesis Appeal is pleased to support the work of The National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline, which is specifically for those concerned about the Family History of breast cancer.
Wendy Watson, whose family have been struck by breast cancer several times before, currently runs the helpline. As a result of this Wendy and her family have been the subject of a Channel 4 documentary and she is a well known speaker and patient advocate.
Wendy has particular concerns about patenting of human genes and the privatisation of genetic testing, and she is involved in the political lobbying of this subject.
Wendy's website www.breastcancergenetics.com includes photographs of women who have had mastectomies and reconstructive surgery either for preventative reasons, or due to breast cancer.
